Does anyone remember this late 90s show? It was way ahead of its time, yet seriously underrated, which is probably why it only ever lasted one season. I love revisiting old shows and watching this now makes me realise how funny and heart warming, yet dark it was. The writing, comedic timing, characters and storylines were subtle and insightful and practically everybody was in it! Much like Seinfeld, part of the fun in seeing it years later is spotting so many familiar faces.
I kind of think if it was made now, it would almost certainly last a few seasons; our perceptions and tastes have changed so much when it comes to pop culture.
Oh and possibly the best dance scene of all time:

Yes! I love Freaks and Geeks, though I only saw it in the past few years for the first time. It might be due for a re-watch 🙂 How great is Haverchuck?
Hah! Bill = awesome. You inspired me to add a video 😀
Yessss! I love how it starts up close to gradually reveal the awesome 🙂 thanks for that!
Oh I always loved it too. I wonder what it would be like watching it all now…
I watched it fairly recently and loved it Wens 🙂 It didn’t seem like it was on that long ago then I realised it was 99 ..
I “remember” the show but I didn’t watch it (I don’t really watch t.v., I’m such a nerd)…but I’m totally amazed and how much talent came out of it – seems like most of the cast went on to have great careers 🙂
Yes, so true! So awesome that a show which didn’t last long had such a lasting impression on people.
I LOVE this show (again, I think we are tv soulmates 🙂 Did you know that Linda Cardellini was on Mad Men (as Don’s neighbor and lover)? I was dumbfounded when I figured it out!
I spotted that too! (although I had to think about it for a bit).
Loved this show! Took me awhile to stumble across it- I discovered it about 5 years ago and was so bummed when I realised there was only one season. Great writing and very well cast.
